impressions

How Impressions works.

The whole thing in plain English: what counts as a clip, how views are measured, where the money comes from, and how anyone can check every payout.

The short version

  1. 1Clip a memecoin or crypto creator and post it on TikTok or Instagram.
  2. 2Credit them in the caption and add #memecoins.
  3. 3Submit it within 7 days of posting.
  4. 4Views it gains after you submit count toward the current 3-day round.
  5. 5When the round closes, the top 25 clips split the pool by views, paid in SOL.

What counts as a clip.

Short videos about memecoins or crypto, posted on TikTok or Instagram (Reels). Any coin, any creator, any angle. Nobody in the clip has to be in a trade, and it doesn't need to mention Impressions.

TikTokInstagram Reels

Example caption

he really called the top on stream. credit: @creator #memecoins #crypto

1

Credit who's in it

Use their @handle, write “credit: handle” or paste their profile link.

2

Add #memecoins

Every eligible caption includes it. Captions are re-checked automatically.

  • 3TikTok or InstagramShort-form video: TikTok videos or Instagram Reels.
  • 4Within 7 daysSubmit a clip within a week of posting it.
  • 5Views after submittingEarlier views never count. Nothing is backdated.
  • 6No mention neededClips don't have to mention Impressions, and nobody has to be in a trade.
  • 7Real views onlyBotted, bought or swapped views get the account banned for good.

Your own posts

Clips must come from an account you've verified with a code in its bio. Each post can be submitted once.

A quick human check

New clips get a quick look from a person before they're marked eligible. A clip takes part in a round if it's eligible when that round closes.

Captions are re-read

Every view update re-checks the caption. Remove the credit or #memecoins and the clip stops counting; put it back and it gets another quick check.

Keep it public

Views can only be read while a post is public. A post that can't be found three readings in a row is treated as deleted.

Rounds last 3 days.

Clips can take a day or two to go viral, so each round runs 3 days to give every clip time to pick up views.

Every round starts and closes at 00:00 UTC. When it closes, the top 25 eligible clips split that round's reward pool in proportion to the views each one gained during the round. Paid in SOL.

  • Fewer than 25 clips? They share the whole pool between them.
  • Funds but no eligible clips? The whole pool rolls over into the next round. Nothing is lost.
  • No fees? The ranking is still recorded and published, with nothing to pay.

How the pool is split

Ranking. Clips are ranked by the views they gained in the round; only clips that gained views take part. Equal views: the clip submitted first ranks higher. Submitted at the very same moment too: the clip's ID decides, in alphabetical order, so the order is always the same.

Shares. Each of the top 25 gets pool × its views ÷ the total views of the top 25, rounded down to a whole lamport (a billionth of a SOL).

Leftovers. Rounding down leaves a few lamports over, always fewer than the number of clips. They go one each to the clips with the largest remainders, the ones that lost the most to rounding. Equal remainders: the better-ranked clip goes first. The amounts always add up to the pool exactly, never a lamport more or less.

Small amounts. A share under 0.001 SOL isn't sent on its own: a brand-new Solana wallet needs a minimum balance, and network fees would eat it. It's kept as a balance for your wallet and sent once your total reaches 0.001 SOL. Nothing is forfeited.

Worked example

A pool of 9 lamports, three clips

RankViews9 × views ÷ 11Paid
1Clip Asubmitted 08:0554 r 14
2Clip Bsubmitted 09:1232 r 53
+1
3Clip Csubmitted 11:4032 r 52
Total118 +1 left9
  • B ranks above C because they have the same views and B was submitted first.
  • The 1 leftover lamport goes to the largest remainder. B and C tie on remainder, so the better-ranked B gets it.
  • Every lamport is paid: the amounts add up to the pool exactly.

How views are measured.

Platforms only show a running total, so Impressions reads that total over time and counts the difference. Here is exactly how.

Example clip. The numbers are made up to show the rule.

  1. Tue 16:20 UTC

    2,100

You submit. This reading is the baseline: earlier views never count.

    Baseline
  2. Tue 18:55 UTC

    6,400

    Views re-read.

  3. Tue 21:55 UTC

    8,600

    Views re-read.

  4. Tue 23:55 UTC

    9,800

Last good reading before 00:00: it closes this round and opens the next.

  5. Round closes · 00:00 UTC
  6. Wed 00:55 UTC

    10,300

    Views re-read.

  7. Wed 03:55 UTC

    12,900

    Views re-read.

This round counts

Last good reading at or before 00:00, minus the baseline

9,800−2,100=7,700 views

Next round, so far

Latest reading, minus the last good reading at or before its start

12,900−9,800=3,100 views

Either way the clip gets 10,800 views across the two rounds. When a reading fails, nothing is invented and nothing is lost: the views simply land in the round where the next good reading falls. Both rounds use the same boundary reading, so no view is ever counted twice.

With every reading arriving, this round counts 7,700 views and the next round has 3,100 so far.

  1. Your submission is the baseline

The moment you submit, Impressions reads the post's view count. That reading is the baseline: views from before it never count.

  2. A round counts what was gained inside it

A clip's views for a round are its last good reading at or before the round's end, minus its last good reading at or before the round's start. Submitted during the round? The baseline is the start.

  3. Never below zero

If a platform lowers a view count during a round (for example after removing fake views), that round counts 0 for the clip, never a negative number.

  4. No reading, no guess

If the data provider is down, no number is recorded and nothing is estimated. The views aren't lost either: they land when the next good reading arrives. Neighbouring rounds share the same boundary reading, so each view counts once.

When views update

Views are read from public data through Apify, every 3 hours (00:55, 03:55, 06:55, 09:55, 12:55, 15:55, 18:55, 21:55 and 23:55 UTC). The 23:55 reading happens every day, so every day and every round closes on a fresh number.

A clip you've just submitted shows “—” on the leaderboard until its first re-read. Next update: 00:55 UTC.

TikTok shows some videos differently from country to country. To find yours, a post is read from the country your account was last readable from, then the UK, then the US. The first time we read your account or a new post, about two dozen other regions are also tried if needed.

Where the money comes from.

$IMPRESS is a token on pump.fun. 100% of its pump.fun creator fees reach the Impressions treasury. When each round closes, the fees it collected are split three ways.

70% · Clipper reward pool

Split between the top 25 eligible clips of each 3-day round, by views. Paid in SOL.

20% · Buy back and burn

Buys $IMPRESS and burns exactly the tokens that buy received.

10% · Upkeep

Running and improving Impressions: servers, data, network fees.

Fees land in the round that's open

A creator fee counts toward the round that's open when it's collected. Fees collected after a round closes go into the next one. So the clipper pool is 70% of the round's own fees, plus any rollover.

Rollover isn't cut twice

The 30% is taken from new fees only. SOL rolled over from an earlier round, or returned from a cancelled payout, goes into the pool whole.

The network fee reserve

Sending SOL costs a small Solana network fee. Each round keeps back 0.00002 SOL from its pool for every clip in its top 25, because it pays for sending those payouts. The real fees are paid from it. If they come to less, the rest goes to the upkeep share; if they come to more, the upkeep share covers the difference.

Buy back and burn

The 20% is spent buying $IMPRESS, and exactly the tokens that purchase returns are burned. It only ever spends SOL left over after everything owed to clippers is covered. See every buyback and burn

Creator campaigns.

Creators can fund their own campaigns to get clipped. A matching clip earns the campaign's rate per 1,000 views, paid in SOL, on top of anything it wins in the round.

Example caption

this call was unreal @firstcreator @othercreator #memecoins

First @handle: matched to its campaign Later handles: ignored for matching

When you submit, Impressions looks at the first @handle in your caption. If it belongs to a creator campaign, the clip joins that campaign. Only the first one counts, so nobody can stuff a caption with every creator's handle.

A match is permanent: editing the caption later can't move it. A clip that matched nothing can still match later, from its caption's first @handle. Matched clips still compete for the round's top 25 as usual.

The clip still needs the credit and #memecoins, and a creator's own clips never earn from their own campaign.

How a campaign pays, day by day

Campaigns settle every UTC day, not every round.

  1. 1The UTC day endsAt 00:00 UTC the day is settled. A clip's views count from when it was submitted, and only from when the campaign went live.
  2. 2Views × rateEach clip's views gained that day, times the campaign's rate per 1,000 views for the clip's platform. A campaign can set a different rate per platform, or pay nothing on one.
  3. 3Priced in SOLThe dollar amount is converted at the SOL price when the day is settled: the average of CoinGecko and Coinbase. If the two differ by more than 2%, settlement waits and tries again later. If only one answers, its price is used.
  4. 4Scaled if funds run shortIf the campaign wallet can't cover the whole day (after what it already owes and a small reserve for network fees), every clip gets the same fraction of what it earned.
  5. 5Built up, then paidEarnings build up per campaign and are paid once they reach 0.1 SOL. When a campaign ends, anything of 0.001 SOL or more is paid out.

Campaign money stays in that campaign's own wallet, never the treasury. SOL owed to clippers, including earnings still building up, can never be taken back: admins can only withdraw the unowed balance of a paused or ended campaign.

Real views only.

Botted, bought or swapped views are banned. Using them ends your time on Impressions, for good.

One ban covers the whole account: every clip, every platform.

What happens if we find it

  1. 01The account is banned and signed outPermanently. It can't sign in or submit again.
  2. 02Every one of its clips is disqualifiedNot just the botted one.
  3. 03Everything not yet paid is cancelledIncluding small balances still building up. It's never sent.
  4. 04Pool money goes back to everyone elseCancelled round payouts are added to the next round's pool.
  5. 05Campaign money stays with the campaignIt remains in that campaign's wallet.

Payouts already on their way when the ban lands can't be recalled.

Unusual activity gets a human look

Nothing is judged automatically. A person reviews clips with sudden spikes far above their normal pace, very few likes for their views, brand-new accounts with huge numbers, or no readable views for three days. A flagged clip still gets ranked, but its payout waits until the review is done.

Accounts and payouts.

No wallet connecting, ever. You prove who you are with your social account, and you're paid in SOL to an address you paste in.

Your account

  • Sign in with a code in your bioPut a one-time code in your TikTok or Instagram bio. Reading it proves the account is yours, and that's how you sign in. You never connect or sign anything with a wallet.
  • Paste your payout address twiceTyping it twice catches typos. Solana payments can't be reversed, so it has to be right.
  • One wallet, one accountEach account links one payout wallet, and each wallet belongs to one account. One wallet can be linked per internet connection; on a shared network (school, office, mobile data) you can ask for a manual review instead.
  • Checked before it's savedThe address must be a normal wallet (a point on Solana's ed25519 curve, so not a program or token account), and it's screened against sanctions lists.

We will never ask for your seed phrase or private key. Nobody from Impressions needs it, ever.

Your payouts

  • Paid in SOLRound payouts are sent from the Impressions treasury after the round closes. Campaign payouts come from that campaign's own wallet.
  • Every payout has a signatureEach one is a Solana transaction anyone can look up. They're listed round by round on the payouts page.
  • Never paid twiceA clip can be paid at most once per round. Each transaction is signed and recorded before it's sent, and only retried once the network proves it can never land.
  • Screened again at send timeWallets are checked against sanctions lists before each payout. A payout to a listed wallet is held, never sent.

Check every round yourself.

When a round closes, its result is written once and never edited: the fees, the pool, and every clip's views, rank, share and amount. It's published as one canonical JSON file (keys in a fixed order, amounts as whole-number text, no spaces) with its SHA-256 fingerprint. Change a single digit and the fingerprint changes completely.

  1. 1Open any round on the payouts page.
  2. 2Download its snapshot JSON. Every round has one at/api/periods/<round start date>/snapshot
  3. 3Hash the file and compare it with the published hash.
  4. 4Redo the maths: pool × views ÷ total views, rounded down, leftovers to the largest remainders. The amounts must add up to the pool exactly. Each round's page can also run these checks in your browser.

Hash a snapshot

Mac or Linux
shasum -a 256 impressions-snapshot-DATE.json
Windows (PowerShell)
Get-FileHash impressions-snapshot-DATE.json -Algorithm SHA256

Windows prints the hash in capitals. Upper or lower case, it's the same hash.

No round has closed with a snapshot yet. The first one is published the moment the first round with fees or clips closes at 00:00 UTC.

That's all of it. Go clip.
